Week of 3/30/2026
Core Value – Consistency
Highlighted HS Varsity Baseball Athlete of the Week:
Caden Hollister
Caden is the picture of consistency on the playing field and off. He is consistent with his play on the field whether it is at first base or on the pitcher mound. He is our clean-up hitter because of his consistency at the plate. But his greatest consistent trait is his walk with the Lord.
Highlighted HS JV Baseball Athlete of the Week:
Matthew Wyrick
Matthew is a consistent contributor on our team day in and day out. Matthew's consistent effort has also led to great improvements in his game which will no doubt lead to good things in the future. Thanks, Matt, for your consistent work ethic and good attitude!
Highlighted HS Varsity Softball Athlete of the Week:
Esther MacPherson
Esther is such a steady, smart softball player. From her first day back on the softball field, she has given the same laser focus to each day whether in practice or games. Esther is also developing into a very consistent hitter for us and has contributed well in the middle of our lineup. Esther does all this with the greatest smile and the greatest attitude towards others!
Highlighted HS JV Softball Athlete of the Week:
Mae Landrus
Mae has consistently been a positive presence for our whole program. She has been one of the leaders in her effort and skill, but also with a great sense of humor and humility. Mae has also brought the same mentality in some varsity games this year as well; and has been a great contributor to the varsity games!
Highlighted HS Golf Athlete of the Week:
Mackenzie Prince
Mackenzie consistently plays golf with integrity, joy, and stewardship of talent. Rather than just showing up and adding numbers on a scorecard, she allows for a consistent, peaceful approach to a blessing game. Her consistency stems from being in the now, practicing with a purpose, treating each shot as a new opportunity and mirroring the grace found in faith. True golfers treat each shot as a unique experience, managing emotions and building resilience, ultimately treating the course as a metaphor for navigating life's challenges. Congratulations on your selection as Team Captain from your peers and building a legacy for girl golfers at Northwest Christian.
Highlighted Girls HS Track Athletes of the Week:
June Birnbaum
June has demonstrated great consistency and heart this last week. She was overwhelmingly voted as one of the captains for the girl’s team because of her heart for her teammates. She has such a sweet nature and reflects God in how she loves others.
Highlighted Girls HS Track Athletes of the Week:
Nick Maksimov
This is Nick's 1st year in track and is so willing to try new things. He has a great attitude and is consistently willing to put his heart and effort into anything he is asked to do. He is a blessing to have on this team.
Highlighted Boys Soccer Athletes of the Week:
Dawson Fazio
Dawson has been one of our most consistent athletes in practice and on the field. He brings his intensity and love for the game to every event and consistently shows up to help the team succeed. We are thankful for his commitment and excited to see him continue to bless the boys’ soccer program.
Highlighted JH Baseball Athlete of the Week:
Marshall DesJardin
Marshall is the definition of consistency and brings a steady presence to our junior high baseball team, showing up every day with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude. We’ve witnessed this during this season, as well as over the past several years of coaching Marshall, as he continues to show up with the same smile, effort, and attitude. He works hard no matter the situation and is a great teammate, always encouraging others and helping build a strong, united team culture.
Highlighted JH Softball Athlete of the Week:
Melody Wyrick
From day one, Melody has shown up with a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to be coached. She brings the same energy and effort every single day, encouraging her teammates, leading by example, and creating a culture that reflects both commitment and joy. Her consistency isn’t just in her performance, but in her character; she approaches each practice with humility, gratitude, and a servant-hearted mindset. It has been awesome to see how she uplifts those around her and represents our program in a way that honors the Lord through her actions, attitude, and leadership.
