Bob Castle

A Spokane native, Bob Castle brings a dynamic blend of leadership, sports management, and community engagement to the high school coaching arena. Since joining the Kalispel Golf and Country Club in 2016 as General Manager, Bob has demonstrated a commitment to excellence, team development, and strategic operations.

Prior to his role at Kalispel Golf Course, Bob served as Assistant Athletic Director at Whitworth University, where he managed corporate partnerships and athletic operations for one of the most successful athletic departments in its conference. He was also the 18-year radio voice of Whitworth athletics and most recently served as an assistant coach and head coach for the Whitworth University (Pirates) championship softball program for 10 years.  Bob was also a softball umpire for over 13 years working all high school and collegiate levels.

Bob Castle took over as Whitworth's softball head coach in the fall of 2019.  Castle was an assistant coach from 2015-2018.  During that time, he was part of three consecutive Northwest Conference titles (2015, 2016, 2017).  Whitworth finished 23-19 and returned to the NWC tournament for the third time under Castle in 2023, the Pirates 11th appearance overall.  There was no NWC tournament in 2020 due to Covid-19.  Overall, Castle has coached dozens of players that went on to be All-Northwest Conference players including former Northwest Christian players Jazz Johnson and Mattea Nelson.

Bob holds a master’s degree in organizational leadership from North Central University and a bachelor’s in organizational management from Whitworth University. He has also earned specialized certificates in Food and Beverage Management from Cornell University and Sports Management from Columbia University’s School of Professional Studies and the American School of Broadcast.

With over 30 years of experience in broadcasting and leadership roles, Bob is known for his ability to build strong relationships, mentor young talent, and foster a culture of integrity and performance. He has served as President and Secretary of the Inland Empire Club Management Association of America, was on the board of Spokane Indians Youth Baseball/Softball and currently serves as Vice Chair on the board of Spokane International Academy.

Bob is passionate about youth development and is eager to bring his experience, energy, and commitment to student-athletes in his coaching role within the Northwest Christian High School family.

For over two decades, Bob has had the privilege of being involved at Whitworth University where he truly believed in the school mission to honor God, follow Christ, and serve humanity.  Bob has found such joy and purpose in creating lifelong relationships with amazing student-athletes within the softball program.  Bob is thrilled to have the opportunity to grow as a person and inspire student-athletes at Northwest Christian. He is thankful to partner with a school whose admin, faculty, and staff truly supports students and stand strong in their Christ centered mission.
