Amber Schumacher
Amber
Schumacher is passionate about working with middle school athletes and believes
this season of development is a powerful opportunity to build confidence,
character, and a love for the game. Amber is committed to creating a team
culture where athletes feel safe, encouraged, and challenged to grow, both on
and off the court.
Amber brings a strong volleyball background, including three years
of varsity high school playing experience with a fourth year of club volleyball
in Southern Mexico during her time as an exchange student along with three
years of elementary volleyball coaching. She holds aligned NFHS coaching
certifications and continues to pursue ongoing professional development. In
addition to her coaching experience, Amber has worked for several years as a
substitute teacher and is in her final year of graduate school for Clinical
Mental Health Counseling. This background allows her to take a developmentally
informed, brain-based approach to coaching that emphasizes emotional
regulation, resilience, teamwork, and growth mindset.
Amber believes athletics provide a meaningful space to teach life
skills such as work ethic, integrity, humility, and perseverance. Research
shows a strong link between girls participating in athletics and becoming
future leaders, fostering confidence, resilience, team-work and strategic
thinking. She is excited to partner with families and the Northwest Christian
community to help athletes grow as players, teammates, and young leaders.
